We are looking for Lead service technician to join our team.We are looking for someone who is a team player, takes pride in their own work, and who is reliable and be able to perform Preventive Maintenance on commercial Docks & Doors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on commercial Docks & Doors (PMP) tasks and complete PMP sheets, PMP allowance
- Perform the small repairs while on site (allowance is issued to assist the customer in maintaining their equipment)
- Pick up and deliver equipment/parts as directed from various manufacturers/suppliers to the customer site, all while continuing to learn and progress through the organization. There are also several other important duties that you would be involved in.
- Completion of all forms and paperwork in a timely and appropriate fashion.
- Always keep truck clean and operational. Utilize the Junior technicains to ensure that the service truck is organized and clean, inside, and outside.
- Maintain adequate levels of stock of required parts of your truck (identify and report when quantities are low, and you require reordering.
- Put away items returned to the warehouse.
- Properly dispose of materials removed from customer sites
- Constantly improve product knowledge to better service our customer.
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings.
- Installation, diagnosis, repair, and replacement of equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical).
Skills and Experience:
- High School /Equivalent
- Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
- 25 years of experience in door and docks installation
- Strong Mechanical aptitude
- Experience with electric openers and barrier gates
- Electrical knowledge is an asset.
- Comfortable working at heights
- Highly efficient in using hand and power tools
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Skills in effective time management, organization, multitasking, and prioritization.
- Ability to lead and work well as a team member.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently such as scissor lift, forklift, and hand tools, etc.
- Operation of aerial work platforms and forklifts
- Knowledge of various types of insulated panel systems as well as other siding and roofing systems
- Installation, repair, and replacement of insulated metal doors, panels, and enclosures
- Must be customerfocused with strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Experience with health and safety on construction and industrial work sites including working at heights, WHIMIS, etc.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular work day; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other climbing devices; carry tools and equipment; work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched, and crawling positions; be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.
- Must be able to: Perform assigned tasks under all types of environmental and weather conditions including severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather and high winds.
- Environmental conditions may include areas where toxic or caustics chemicals or fumes are in use or being stored.
- Noise intensity level of 4; Proximity to moving mechanical parts; Working in high, exposed levels as well as in close, cramped quarters.
- May be required to operate or work around powderactuated hand tools such as ramsets, Hiltiguns, etc.
- Ability to work overtime
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time
