The Role:

The Manager, People Business Partner plays an integral role in aligning the Mozilla Foundation's global workforce with organizational objectives.

Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, they lead in the development of people processes and policies required for the achievement of departmental and team strategy.

The Manager, People Business Partner provides strategic and operational guidance to designated VP's and their teams - proactively coaching, supporting, and partnering with management on all people related matters to include training, team planning, and employee relations.

This role also manages an HR & Recruitment Coordinator - and is responsible for guiding, training, developing their skills, and supervising their day-to-day tasks.


Principal Responsibilities:


As a Manager, People Business Partner you will be responsible for:


Supporting client group:


  • Serve as a strategic partner to VP and client group to build, grow, and maintain relations
  • Support, coach and partner with VP, Directors and managers in all people matters
  • Meet with managers on a regular basis to surface and support needs
  • Train and develop managers, working with P&C Generalist, DEI Lead and/or other collaborators to build appropriate training modules
  • Guide teams through change management and transformation processes
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues up to VP level (working with Director, People & Culture on employee relations issues at VPlevel or above)
  • Engage with managers and directors to identify gaps in required skill levels and clarify learning and development needs for teams
  • Anticipate client group/VP team's needs and proactively build services and supports
  • Lead and supervise all employee lifecycle activities and processes for the team
  • Raise concerns/trends to the team, Director and Legal as needed, work with Sr Director, Legal to resolve
  • Be responsible for the people related work, support and outcomes for the client group

P&C Policy, Programs and Cycle work:

  • Develop proposals for the Director, People & Culture and executive team to inform and aid decision making
  • Source and assess vendors for service and program delivery
  • Use insights from partners (VP, managers) and data sources (engagement surveys, performance reviews etc) to drive and guide the development of new offerings for the team and the organization
  • Identify program, policy and process needs and work with the P&C Generalist to plan and prioritize
  • Collaborate with P&C Generalist and team to create a cohesive, consistent and positive experience for all staff

Projects:


  • Working with the Director, P&C and Generalist, help define and prioritize projects for the team
  • Projects you can expect to work on in your time with Mozilla Foundation:
  • Review of EOR service providers with a global equity lens
  • Refine a new iteration of our performance review process
  • Support organizational policy review

People Management:


  • Meet with the HR & Recruitment Coordinator (direct report) frequently to provide guidance, feedback and training on day to day work
  • Support coordinator's development through coaching, career planning, professional development and goal setting
  • Intervene as needed to remove obstacles from coordinator's work
  • Promote a team environment that values, encourages, and supports differences

Your Professional Profile:


As a Manager, People Business Partner at Mozilla Foundation you'll need:

  • Experience supporting and working with Global Talent (Americas, EMEA, APAC); remote experience preferred.
  • Comfort with high volume and very broad workload; not afraid to "roll up your sleeves" to complete more tactical work. Able to switch between strategic and tactical work daily.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships across the organization
  • Ability to identify and manage sensitive and confidential matters with a high level of discretion, tact and empathy
  • Comfort using technology (including Google Workspace) and working open
  • The ability to solve complex problems; resourceful and takes initiative to seek internal and external resources when problemsolving.
