Responsibilities:


  • Displays a commitment to Waiward's incidentfree vision, values, and culture;
  • Certified and able to use the overhead crane to lift finished items into the paint area;
  • Scheduling of production and ensuring completion of divisions;
  • Working effectively with Project Mangers on specifications of material;
  • Understand customer specifications and product data sheets;
  • Ensures efficiency and productivity of work team;
  • Verifies adequate and suitable safety equipment, including mandatory PPE, and ensures it is supplied and properly used and maintained;
  • Review job hazard assessments with team prior to commencement of a job;
  • Conducts daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections;
  • Assess and confirm, through documentation, each team members competency;
  • Participate in and provide incident reports for all incidents in the investigation process;
  • Read, understand and comply with Waiward's safety policy, safe work practices, procedures and rules;
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of supervisory experience within the Steel Industry is required;
  • 5 to 7 years experience with industrial coatings is an asset;
  • NACE Level 1 or 2 a strong asset;
  • Experience with the operation of equipment such as airless spray equipment, and manual hose sand blasting;
  • Standard First Aid ticket an asset;
  • Forklift certificate an asset;
  • Overhead Crane Operator certificate an asset;
  • Exceptional mentoring and multitasking skills that are complemented by effective interpersonal, oral and written communication;
  • Motivated individual who is effectively able to lead a team within a fast paced environment;
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract is a requisite.
