    Responsibilities/Duties:

    As the Principal Electrical Engineer, your role involves providing innovative solutions for marine installations, ranging from small work boats to large ferry systems. You will oversee engineering design for new vessels and refits, managing projects from concept to completion independently or within a team setting. Your expertise in electrical systems will be crucial for guiding fellow engineers and naval architects on various projects.

    The Senior Electrical Marine Engineer should be able to:

    • Design marine systems using AutoCAD and specialized software
    • Develop diagrams and plans for ship systems
    • Perform analyses on ship designs and installations
    • Create propulsion designs with energy storage systems
    • Prepare specifications for vessel designs
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate electrical systems

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's or Masters degree in electrical engineering
    • Hold a Professional Engineers License in British Columbia
    • Minimum 10+ years of design experience in ship projects
    • Experience in shipyard or repair environments preferred
    • Familiarity with BC marketplace for ship operators an advantage

    Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

    • Strong technical writing skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills with clients
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
    • Willingness to travel and conduct ship surveys
    • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
    • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies

    For a Senior Electrical Marine Engineer, the salary can reach up to $130,000 annually, with potential profit-sharing based on performance. Junior positions typically range between $70K-$110K, with profit-sharing opportunities depending on individual contributions to company growth.
