The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province's power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it.
We operate the province's electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario's electricity needs - now and into the future.
The opportunity
The Jr. Analyst, Central Services is responsible for providing day to day operational and reporting support to the Central Services team. The Jr.
Analyst supports contract, procurement, business information system, budget and settlements activities for the Demand Side Management division, including performing analyses, processing payments, reporting and maintaining records.
The Jr.Analyst, Central Services assists in the update/development of new business processes, procedures, and system/tools for the division, including user testing and maintaining data integrity.
In addition, the Jr.Analyst provides innovative solutions to internal and external users of business information systems for purposes of issue resolution, and maintains and is the central provider of various information within the business information systems.
What you will do
Technical
- Support with existing budget, settlement, contracts and business information systems daily operations
- Identify and perform gap analyses to recommend and establish enhancements to existing or new operational processes, procedures, and information systems
- Prepare presentations, summaries, databases and organizes information, as required
- Prepare reports of Demand Side Management data, including settlements, forecasts, contracts, procurements, contract milestones, and data in general, in addition to developing ad hoc reports
- Work with internal users to develop business requirements for enhancements to existing or new information systems
- Work with Information Technology (IT) to translate business requirements to IT specific requirements
- Develop use cases and test cases for use in user acceptance testing
- Develop user manuals and facilitate training sessions for solution enhancement releases or new product releases
Financial
- Support financial information systems needs of the Demand Side Management division
- Support access to financial data from various information systems for the purposes of reporting and analyses
- Support budget management and settlement functions for the Demand Side Management division
- Support with processing invoices and payments through OnlineIESO and Market Settlements, as applicable
- Support the development and enhancement of existing and new budget management tools and information systems
- Maintain budgets and settlements data as needed in the budget management tool Strict adherence to IESO policies, processes and procedures, as required

Customer Focus
- Survey requirements from business groups to identify operational process improvements and information system opportunities
- Foster positive relationships with service providers, IESO business units and partners
- Work with Demand Side Management and other IESO teams to establish business requirements for new contracts, procurements and information systems
- Work closely with IESO's Procurement, Legal, Finance and IT teams to ensure the division's contractual, financial and information needs are addressed in a professional and timely manner
- Value internal and external clients and respond to their needs
