    GFL Environmental is actively looking for a skilled Truck Transport Mechanic to join our team in Winnipeg, MB

    Our Licensed Technicians are responsible for safely operating, repairing, and maintaining GFL Environmental's commercial diesel and alternative fuel trucks, as well as heavy equipment to ensure their safe operation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose and repair modern CNG and diesel engines, as well as advanced electrical and hydraulic systems
    • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks
    • Complete necessary record-keeping related to vehicle repairs
    • Review, plan, and schedule work
    • Mentor apprentice technicians
    • Operate tools and equipment according to safety procedures
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area
    • Perform other assigned duties

    Requirements:

    • Journeyman designation or equivalent
    • Valid driver's license
    • Provide own tools and willingness to acquire necessary tools
    • Red Seal preferred but not required

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to perform CVI inspections and knowledge of transportation regulations
    • Familiarity with tools for commercial vehicle maintenance
    • Ability to follow maintenance guidelines and procedures
    • Experience with diagnostic software preferred
    • Effective communication skills
    • Self-motivated with attention to detail

    Working Conditions:

    The Technician must be able to work in various weather conditions

    Physical Demands:

    • Physical requirements include walking, standing, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, etc.
    • Utilize personal protective equipment
    • Physically capable of lifting and pushing heavy weights
