The Office of the Registrar ensures adherence to academic regulations and processes that facilitate the provision of valued credentials, supports NAIT's Promises through consistent and transparent admission processes, safeguards the accuracy and security of academic records, and manages the provision of effective, accessible, and efficient service to members of the NAIT community.

The position is one of three Admissions Coordinators, and reports to the Manager of Admissions.

The Admissions Coordinators work collaboratively with the Manager to provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the Admissions team, and to guide the team in meeting operational and strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Admissions Coordinators provide direct supervision for Admissions Officer, Trainer, and Recruitment Liaison positions. Major responsibilities of the role include planning assignments, performing staff evaluations, hiring, and training staff.


The Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders with questions or concerns about domestic and international admissions.

They are responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate program and service areas to facilitate awareness and understanding of admissions policy and procedure, solicit feedback on the current processes, and identify and address stakeholders' needs.

The Admissions Coordinator helps to inform admissions policy and procedure, refine business rules, and is a key member of the admissions process mapping team.

They also handle complex applicant cases. Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills are essential.


As a member of the RO Leadership Team, the Coordinator will be required to participate in RO strategic planning, contributing to and informing development of strategic initiatives, guidelines, and procedures.

In addition, they are required to represent the RO on and/or lead work teams, committees, projects, and planning groups both internal to NAIT and external within the community.

As such, the Coordinator must be a well-established professional with extensive leadership and supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and a firmly rooted collaborative outlook.


The ability to effectively implement operational plans, work to deadlines, and manage large volumes of work are critical for the role.

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Supervisory, staff coaching and development experience.
  • Ability to work within critical deadlines and balance competing priorities effectively in a highstress, highvolume environment.
  • Time management skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions, and to implement operational and strategic goals.
  • Experience facilitating large work teams, committees, and/or projects.
  • Understanding of research techniques and data analysis methodologies.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of admissions methodology and NAIT Admissions business rules and processes is an asset.
  • Working knowledge in aspects of project management is an asset.
  • Experience with the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system, especially from an admissions perspective, is an asset.

Qualifications:


  • Related postsecondary diploma and 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in a Registrar's Office working with a student information system like PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is preferred.
  • Related experience in an Admissions environment is an asset.

Remuneration:
$2, $3,451.82 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package (classification: Coordinator II).
