Description
The Packing Manager is responsible for managing the labour workforce and ensuring supervision of Pack line workers.

The incumbent must be highly organized and results oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and teamwork, to meet or exceed expectations of the company.

Reporting to the Grower, you will play a key role to complete day-to-day greenhouse operations.


Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee & support the designated packing areas in each plant, daily and as required;
  • Responsible for ensuring the day to day productivity of the packers;
  • Monitoring the line to ensure all finished products meet the expected standards;
  • Submit any employee related documentation to HR department including; Tracking attendance, vacation/leave of absence, performance evaluation forms, etc.;
  • Direct employees to their resources at hand with enough guidance, direction, leadership, and support necessary to ensure that they are familiar with company goals and able to successfully accomplish those goals;
  • Verify that the inventory is accurate and fresh by daily communications with the sales staff;
  • Identify problems in the product and ensure that the product is moved accordingly;
  • Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work schedules for packing & shipping department;
  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping accurate, daily inventory count;
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and properly labeled load quantities to ensure that each customer is identified on each pallet per load;
  • Being an active member in the JHSC;
  • Administer all Health & Safety programs;
  • Evaluate new potential processes to increase revenue or save operating costs;
  • Verify supplying, shunting and pack out records;
  • Ensure the security of all physical inventory of the department;
  • Assure timely and accurate entry of all data into the computer;
  • Assume full control over inventory in the department and assuring the accurate accounting of short, damaged, and missing items;
  • Assure that every order is filled with the highest quality produce prior to loading;
  • Assure the neat and clean appearance of the Warehouse;
  • Communication of opportunities that affect the line performance as appropriate.

Salary:
$20.00-$24.00 per hour
