Harnessing the worldwide expansion of cell phone use and leveraging text messaging via SMS, WelTel has developed a unique software platform to advance patient care.
The WelTel service provides clinicians with a user-friendly computer interface and workflow to manage and interact with patients while offering virtual care through SMS, voice, or video.
We are seeking a highly skilled business graduate to join our Vancouver team. WelTel is offering an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional, creative, solutions-oriented thinker with a passion for global health.Working closely with the co-founders, research and development team you will assist in helping to grow our current verticals and help us break into new markets.
Length of Term: 6 months FTE, 3 months probationary period with a possibility for extension.
Due to the sensitive nature of this work, a Non-Disclosure Agreement will need to be signed.
WelTel's patient engagement service is currently supporting a number of important clinical trials as well as being deployed in several _proof-of-concept_ settings around the world.
Specifically, we need someone to help us grow our social enterprise so we can ensure better access for more patients around the world.
As a lean start-up, we need someone who can work effectively and efficiently while helping us develop our business model and pricing structure to secure a critical mass of early adopters for this important innovation.
This position will work directly with the CEO of the company to assist with the pursuit of gaining traction in the real-world setting.
WelTel was the world's first program to improve health through virtual care and has been successful in growing globally, but it's now time to bring in the expertise to get to that next level.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete a market analysis of current competitors
- Determine who the customers are and develop a pitch for each audience
- Articulate the value proposition for the different stakeholders
- Help create a costing model that makes sense and offers the benefits of economies of scale
- Help to identify and expand the business to new markets.
- Work with the project team and partners, to develop, package and execute a soft launch sales package for WelTel's virtual care solution
- Other tasks as assigned by the executive management team to ensure success
Other Value Add Contributions:
- Develop training and marketing materials that are professional and effective
- Help with refreshing WelTel's global brand and messaging
- Pitch WelTel's value proposition to targeted audiences through targeted slide decks for different audiences, eg., Pharma, Philanthropist, Businesses, Health Authorities, Research groups etc
- Understand the product and its functionality to assist with doing presentations and demonstrations of the platform
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Have good analytical skills, excellent communication skills, proficient computer skills, problemsolving skills, be a motivator
- Be able to work effectively in a team
- Participate in whichever activity is required to get the job done
- Have good customer service skills
- Interest in global health and in digital health
- An interest or experience in developing and launching new products that improve health
Required Qualifications (due to the criteria for funding):
- Have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma program (business or marketing preferred)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status
- Must be vaccinated as this position is located within a healthcare facility
Terms and Conditions
The position will be based near VGH in Vancouver under direct supervision and mentorship of the Canadian co-founders.
Salary:
$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
COVID-19 considerations:
Our work is conducted out of Vancouver General Hospital therefore all applicants must be fully vaccinated to access the facility.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- VANCOUVER, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
