Pastoral Assistant (Coordinator of Volunteer Ministries)
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, established in 1856, is the second largest diocese in English-speaking Canada, and serves the needs of more than Roman Catholics throughout Southwestern Ontario.
Part-Time Pastoral Assistant. Reporting to the Pastor, this position offers flexible hours and a competitive rate of pay.
Primary Responsibility
- Provide administrative assistance to the parish in the recruitment, registration, organization and deployment of volunteer teams.
- Produce and coordinate volunteer ministry schedules.
- Communicate with parish volunteers (prospective and existing) regarding screening requirements and training.
- Occasionally assist Parish Secretary with reception responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned in consultation with the Pastor.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with basic parish activities and Roman Catholic Sacraments.
- Organized, precise, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with others (parish staff, clergy, and volunteers).
Work Hours and Remuneration
- 810 Hours per Week (Schedule negotiable, 2 halfdays suggested).
