Accountabilities:

How You Will Make an Impact:


  • Regular review and reconciliation of customer accounts to ensure accurate account balances.
  • Review and research customer disputes and billing issues in a timely matter to resolve delays in payments.
  • Record and update client accounts with payment promises, disputes reasons and follow up dates.
  • Research, identify and assign unapplied cash to customer accounts
  • Collaborates with management and escalate concerns to address issues or irregularities to ensure timely collections and avoiding further deficiencies or collection risks.
  • Support the Account Managers and Project Leaders with Accounts Receivable Customer setup and Banking Deposit information.
  • Ensures compliance with company billing and collection policies.
  • Allocates daily payments to customer accounts, including cheques, EFT, wires, etransfers, and credit cards.
  • Project the highest level of professionalism and courtesy towards customers; and
  • Regular review and reconciliation of intercompany customer accounts to ensure accurate account balances.
  • Provide reports to stakeholders as assigned
  • Assist in month end close process and other projects assigned.
  • Backup other finance team members as needed for central services.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Need to Succeed:


  • Completion of a threeyear community college program in accounting or equivalent training.
  • Minimum of 6 years' Accounts Receivable collection and Billing experience
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable workflows
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and Canadian GAAP
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP FICO modules
  • Understanding of Canadian HST/GST/QST/PST taxes for invoices.
  • Familiar with Banking transaction relating to various currency and exchange/FX calculation/Accounting.
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in resolving problems
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with ability to adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and adhoc issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written as well as verbal) with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a professional and competent manner for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to adapt to change and learn new processes as the business evolves/develops.
  • Proven ability to multitask, work well under pressure, handle high volumes, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines; and
  • Team player with positive attitude who takes initiative and has a strong work ethic.
