    Description
    Starlight Investments, in conjunction with WP Osborne Executive Search, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team.
    Senior Accountant

    Reporting to the Accounting Manager and indirectly to the Director, Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting for various entities.

    This includes preparing journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, year-end audit working papers, review of property managers reporting, and cash calls.

    Detailed preparation of consolidated account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, including assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting as required;

    Maintain General Ledger, including:
    Analyze general ledger; Completion of monthly bank reconciliations;
    Completion of HST reconciliations and returns;
    Prepare a full set of audit lead sheets and working papers for monthly reporting to assist auditors complete quarterly/year-end reviews/audits and tax return preparation;
    Assist with acquisition entries and preparation of necessary backup for audit purposes.

    The Senior Accountant will possess a University Degree in Finance/Accounting and 3+ years of accounting experience; a thorough understanding of accounting principles; superior Excel skills; Experience in the real estate industry is considered an asset.
