    Senior School Learning Commons Coordinator
    ~$69,204 – $118,349 (DOE and Grid Placement) CAD / Year

    West Point Grey Academy is seeking a Senior School Learning Commons Coordinator beginning August 26, 2024. This is a full-time position, eligible for benefits.

    Our Learning Commons Coordinator role is new to the Senior School, and is integral to creating a Learning Commons is a welcoming, responsive and effective hub for learning and student belonging.

    An integral member of our learning community, the Coordinator will promote critical thinking skills and support student research endeavours by curating a diverse collection of resources to support the curriculum and student interest.

    Fostering theexploration of various literaciesto empowerlifelong readers and learnersthrough the Senior School Learning Commons collection and programs:
    Curating a collection of resources and developing programming that reflects diverse perspectives, cultures, and identities, promoting inclusivity and equity within the school community while supporting the curriculum and student interests;
    Developing partnerships with local libraries, organizations, and businesses to enhance resources and opportunities available to students and the school community;
    Staying abreast of emerging technologiesand educational trends to enhance Learning Commons resources, including generative artificial intelligence.

    Support and develop student knowledge and understanding related to Academic Integrity, including and referencing (using MLA style) and research skills, information literacy skills across all grades in the Senior School.

    Helping students to safely and intellectually navigate the internet by teaching website evaluation strategies and digital citizenship.

    Create understanding and awareness of the impact of AI tools and support students in using these effectively, critically, and with integrity.

    Guiding and instructing students on responsible and ethical use of digital resources, including Internet safety, online privacy, and copyright laws;
    Collaborating with Department Heads to develop a research and digital literacy scope and sequence for students in Grades 8-12;
    Providing personalized assistance to students conducting research projects, including help with topic selection, search strategies, and citation formatting.
    Planning and administering the Senior School Learning Commons budget:
    Collecting and analyzing data related to Learning Commons usage, student learning outcomes and information literacy skills to inform decision-making and improving the Learning Commons spaces and resources;
    Identifying resources to maintain and enhance the Learning Commons collection, technology infrastructure, and programming;
