About the Position:

Reporting to the VP, Development, the Manager, Development is responsible for managing the entire development process.

The scope covers the full development life cycle including but not limited to feasibility analysis, acquisition underwriting, entitlement/municipal approvals, design development through to close out.

The Manager will be responsible for assembling and managing consultant teams required to execute on the development program.

Working with municipal staff on the approvals process and work within multiple internal groups in the development department and across the organization.


Key Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Analyze potential acquisitions, including proformas analysis, project reporting, coordinating due diligence activities, and general support for the VP, Development
  • Anticipate needs, inquire, follow up, and correspond with all city staff, third party consultants, and stakeholders
  • Oversee development projects, ensuring critical milestones are achieved
  • Analyze municipal planning and zoning policies to support development, conceptualization, planning, and design development

Required Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong financial skills and business acumen with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • A creative thinker with strong problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills
  • Understanding of real estate markets, growth trends, and occupancy rates

Education and Experience:


  • 2+ years of relevant real estate development and/ or project management experience
  • BA in business administration, civil engineering, architecture, planning or related field
