Position Profile


The primary purpose of the
Manufacturing Production Manager is to execute, manage and maintain the assembly production areas, following the four guiding principles of safety, quality, attainment, and cost.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production plan efficiently on a daily basis by managing employees, priorities and process
  • Execution of the Management Operating Systems principles by Assigning/Setting up daily expectation by area and employees (target vs. actual)
  • Implement and maintain Visual Standard Work in the Production Flow Line
  • Measure and report on daily basis activities performed by Stage (Target vs. actual)
  • Adhere to set safety standards, expectations, safety policies and legislation as part of due diligence
  • Anticipate and react to potential production interruptions and aid in recovery to minimize production loss
  • Perform incident investigations within time lines specified by the safety policy
  • Lead others to improve production, quality levels, and personal/professional growth of all employees
  • Engage, propose and lead implementation of "ideas / improvements" on the production shop floor
  • Ensure that all employees follow approved documentation as per the Quality Management System
  • Work with management, and employees to understand the big picture, adjust targets, and inform others of issues that might impact others and/or targets
  • Meet commitments, asking for a review of targets if a likelihood of missing targets is detected
  • Produce and maintain budgets

Education & Experience

  • 35 years as a leader/manager in a production environment is required
  • 35 years of Aviation or Aerospace manufacturing experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in a Quality Management System environment is required
  • Experience leading a unionized environment is an asset
  • Experience using lean principles and/or employing 5s strategies is considered a strong asset
  • Recognized education in Management, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Work Planning, Quality Assurance or Quality Control considered a strong asset
  • Lean certification is considered an asset
