    Description

    Our client in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in ETL and PowerBI dashboards.

    Location: 1d - 2d/week in Toronto office

    Duration: 6 months w/ extension option

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop reports and analytical dashboards in Power BI
    • Contribute to designing and implementation of data architecture and technology infrastructure for new data and analytics platforms with Azure data stack.
    • Design and build scalable ETL workflows for all data ingestion into the data platform
    • Build custom services and workflows to provide functionality when required to complement existing tools, i.e., integrate with external web services, and thirdparty APIs.
    • Create database objects with a strong understanding of data modeling.
    • Write complex SQL for ETL and data extractions with highperformance and easytomanage code.
    • Work closely with business systems analysts SMEs on projects and operations to deliver effective support, investigate root causes, recommend changes, and maintain accurate documentation.
    Requirements

    • 7+ years of experience in Power BI development
    • 7+ years of experience in data warehousing, designing complex SQL queries, tables, views, and procedures, including performance tuning and query optimization.
    • Experience in Python
    • Experience in building complex Power BI reports, including data model in Power BI and writing DAX
    • Expert experience in ETL processing using tools Azure Data Factory, SSIS and Airflow
    • Intermediate to seniorlevel experience in operationalizing data platforms with Azure data solutions such as Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis Service, Azure Synapse
    • Experience in development with Databricks and Snowflake is preferred.
    • Solid experience in building and maintaining dimensional data models.
    • Handson experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment
    • PACE knowledge is highly desirable.
