Mission Group has a tremendous opportunity for a
Divisional
Controller.
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the individual will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting functions for the company's rental division.
The individual will oversee the financial reporting for a growing portfolio of multi-family residential and commercial properties. If you excel in a dynamic work environment, then this role is for you.This is an office-based role located in Kelowna, BC.
What you'll do:
- Prepare and analyze the monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and supporting working papers
- Lead the annual divisions budget preparation process and monitor monthly comparison to actuals
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare GST tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant government reporting requirements
- Manage intercompany transaction processing
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of internal controls and policies
- Work with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting system modules
- Work collaboratively with the finance team and supervise/mentor accounting staff
- Other ad hoc requests for information/analysis
What you'll have:
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in the property management or construction management sector
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, preferably IFRS
- Experience working with multiple entities and consolidations
- Processoriented and excellent attention to detail
- Selfmotivated and solutiondriven
- Positive work ethic
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Yardi Voyager and Yardi Job Cost experience is an asset
