SUMMARY:

Achev is a not for profit, progressive corporation operating from nine locations across the greater Toronto area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle walk in, telephone, website and other online inquires; quickly assess customers initial employment service needs and effectively communicate relevant next steps
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written with community partners and clients regarding Achev Employment services programs
  • Provide general direction and guidance to individuals and employers accessing the service with print and or online information, resources and activities that support independent employability support
  • Conduct 11 or group orientation sessions and workshops for appropriate clients and promote Achev programs and services
  • Provide 1:1, group or online information on: job search and readiness including labour market, careers and occupations, education, training and employment opportunities and career planning and job search strategies as well as EO program and service information
  • Utilize client/data management system to record all client activity including EAP, case notes and follow up
  • Collect, review, data enter and evaluate client information and service information with reference to Service Delivery Guidelines and appropriate client pathway including referrals to other community programs and services
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance in developing a job search strategy, identifying and matching career interests, skills and aptitudes, developing interview techniques and preparing a resume and cover letter and social media presence
  • Assist with computer usage and Internet based services
  • Support employers with their goals to attract & recruit employees and skilled labour
  • Facilitate in person and or virtual workshops and information sessions to job seekers, employers and others accessing the Employment Services
  • Assist in the coordination of site and community events that meet the mandate of the Employment Service Model.
  • Provide full range of outreach activities maintaining outcome data and statistics
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and the site has up to date and appropriate literature from resources in the community
  • Maintain the library of current job postings and resources in the centre
  • Track client inquiries, identify opportunities, and make recommendations related to improve services and to provide valueadded services
  • Support the Employment Service team with administrative services including general office administrative supports, data collection and entry, maintenance of databases, preparation of statistical reports
  • Manage and order supplies based on budget provided by Coordinator
  • Maintain an organized and productive work environment
  • Other duties, as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a customer service / administration / facilitation and training / resource management in the employment/career services sector
  • Completion of Career and Work Counselling post grad diploma or Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource or related discipline
  • Indepth knowledge of community resources and local Labour Market
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problemsolving ability
  • Time management and organization skills a must
  • Proficient MS

Office skills:
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Job Search strategies, current employment trends, labour market information and appropriate workplace behaviours
  • In
- depth knowledge job search resources, online employment tools to help clients conduct a self-directed job search

  • Experience in coordinating events such as job fairs, guest speaker sessions and special events
