Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Business and IT, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in BUSI 2000U - Collaborative Leadership.**
The current schedule is:
Mondays 9:00am - 12:00pm
AND
Wednesdays 9:00am - 12:00pm
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The primary responsibility of the applicant is to (develop and) teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level within the parameters of the course description listed above.
In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the Sessional Lecturer will deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments.
The Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver and grade all course material and assignments and be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.
Qualifications:
This course will be delivered in-person at Ontario Tech University's North Campus in Oshawa, Ontario.
Required Education:
The successful applicant must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- A Masters degree in Business Administration or Management or Human Resource Management; OR
- A PhD or PhD (ABD) in Business Administration, with a focus on OB/HR, Leadership, Strategy, or Management.
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to respond to student enquiries and to grade assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- High level of comfort with interacting with students and colleagues using online modalities such as Google Meets and Kaltura.
- Ability to manage a course effectively using a Learning Management System.
- An ability to develop innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
- An ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural and diverse community.
Required Experience
Priority will be given to an Internal Applicant who has taught any course for the University in three (3) different sessions in the past thirty-six (36) months, provided they meet the requirements for the position as outlined in the job posting.
