If you've ever been fascinated with aviation and are looking for a career change, we are currently looking for a Facilities and Property Management Specialist to join our Vancouver team.


Responsible for ensuring that all facets of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, general building maintenance and health and safety procedures for all building structures related to air traffic control services, which include Area Control Centers, Towers, NAVAIDs and all pertinent outside plant facilities, are completed in a timely, safe and efficient manner.

You will work with contractors and multiple groups to support Nav Canada operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Administer (where requested), Supervise, and Coordinate Facility Maintenance Contracts
  • Provide Technical Support and Trade Expertise for Outside Contractors and Maintenance Personnel
  • Implement and Coordinate Safety and Security Programs.
  • Maintain and Manage Quality Control Programs.
  • Engineer, Implement and Track Environmental Activities and Procedures.
  • Plan, Schedule, and Manage Company Assets and Resources.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Codes and Regulations.
  • Maintain the required training to work on NAV CANADA's electrical systems.
  • Assist and Coordinate Technical Services Construction and Retrofit Projects.
  • Liaison with NAV Canada Managers, Flight Service Staff, Technologists, and Administration Staff.
  • Facilitate and Manage Record Keeping Activities and Procedures.
  • Create daily logs, status, deficiencies, and closeout reports of maintenance projects/processes.
Job Requirements


Education:


  • College diploma in facilities maintenance or Red Seal technical trades qualifications or a combination of relevant work experience and training. Equivalent technical experience is 10 years of field working related to maintenance delivery with proven increased level of responsibilities.
  • Associate's Certificate in Facilities Management is an asset.

Experience:


  • Experience in prioritizing a critical workload management due to the unpredictability of emergency's that can and do arise because of the nature of the air traffic control business.
  • Experience working with critical infrastructure.
  • Experience sourcing and overseeing contracts and service providers for functions such as mechanical HVAC, Janitorial, Fire Safety and Elevators.

Knowledge:

  • The work requires knowledge of various trade disciplines including painting, carpentry, welding, electrical, gas fitting, plumbing, elevator mechanics, air conditioning, flooring, diesel mechanics, fire protection, security, DDC controls, and pneumatics.
  • The work requires knowledge of construction, repair, and maintenance of the following building system components; electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, roofing, structural, glazing, exterior building components, and interior building systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal environmental policies is required to comply with company environmental procedures.
  • Knowledge of structural and architectural building components is an asset to the position.
  • The work requires knowledge of landscaping, roadways, towers, antennas, pest control, fencing, and diesel storage tanks.
  • Knowledge of computers and computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD is essential for communication and record keeping.
  • The work requires extensive knowledge of the Maximo computerized program for logging, tracking, recording, and prioritizing all facility maintenance activities for the buildings in the various regions of responsibility.
  • The work requires knowledge of first aid, TDG, electrical awareness, asbestos materials, and vehicle driving skills to access remote areas.

Abilities:

  • Ability to read and analyze construction blueprints and drawings including electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural to coordinate with project managers, tradesmen, and engineers.
  • Ability to write, interpret, compile, amend, and analyze contract documents for various facets of facility maintenance is compulsory.
