Our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team currently has a Program Manager, Design to Cost Engineering opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters.

As a Program Manager, you will play a key role in leading supply chain efforts and championing SCM activities and process improvements to meet business goals.

You will lead Design to Cost with full ownership of Bill or Materials (BOM) cost throughout product life cycle and be a major contributor to the annual SCM strategic planning exercise as the "voice of the internal customer" to ensure correct priorities are established.


Other responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Supplier Concurrence Engineering, influence product design, manufacturability, testability and supply chain flexibility on meeting cost, schedule and quality.
  • Develop a product cost roadmap with the Program/Suppliers to enable competitive cost structure to drive pricing down, to open up new market opportunities, price erosion and new customer challenges etc.
  • Provide balanced Technical, Commercial input to ensure BU/programs and corporate priorities are set for Supply Chain.
  • Facilitate collaborative technology/design/development efforts between suppliers and BU/Program/Design teams (in cooperation with SCM teams).
  • Promote strong cooperation and shared objective setting between the groups, focusing on delivery of economic benefits and risk management around TQRDC (Technology, Quality, Responsiveness,
  • Delivery, and Cost).
  • Transmit potential short term and long term new vendor identification information to SCM teams to ensure full due diligence and qualification efforts occur prior to designin or commercial commitments.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement; anticipates changing customer needs and industry advancements; demonstrates vision in advancing tools, technology, processes; well integrated in the community to stay abreast of best practices
  • Drive Supplier development, consolidation and/or localization initiatives for key commodities, enabling improvements in overall total cost of doing business
  • Lead on Make Buy analysis
  • Lead Supply Chain teams to identify with input to SCM risk assessments and ensuring teams active management of risks
  • Ensure adequate communication of BU requirements, forecasts, proposal status, project deliverables, acquisition strategies, vendor development, risk mitigation efforts and any other mission critical
- supply-side requirements.

  • SCM lead for bid proposal on provide BOM/Material Pricing
  • Bridges the organizations to ensure accurate target prices are set, actual historical values utilized in bids and ongoing improvements measured.
  • Strategic liaison with business unit and functional team on responsible for driving security of supply.
  • Review and transmits BU customer requirements or specific flow down terms of contract, not limited to quality clauses, SCM related site visits, supplier lean management flow down, etc.
  • Ensures that design efforts are fully aware of corporate purchasing guidelines and authorities and collaborates with design teams to deliver appropriate service of their needs.

Experience:

Education

  • University degree (Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain)
  • PMI, CPIM and/or CPP Certification
  • 10+ years' related experience in a high technology, defence, government or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a military production environment an asset
Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
