ABOUT US
The DUDES Club was established in the Vancouver Downtown EastSide in 2010 and is a proven model for Indigenous men's wellness promotion that builds solidarity and brotherhood, enabling men to regain a sense of pride and purpose in their life.
A three-year evaluation study found that participants derive increasing benefits across the measured dimensions of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health, and find DUDES a safe environment to connect and share.
Indigenous men derive particular benefits from being a part of DUDES, including increased trust in people, social/peer support, and connection to heritage and culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, adapt, and edit existing content and materials for dissemination on DC social media platforms targeting information to respective Community Participants, Funders or Organizational Partners.
- Update existing content on social media accounts.
- Organizing Google Drive
- Digital Media Strategy folders and documents for improved administrative efficiency.
- Prepare weekly campaigned posting strategy reports
- Prepare weekly analysis reports on posting behaviours, trends, and emerging phenomena.
- Prepare and Develop Google Analytics for new DC Website to improve administrative efficiency.
- Adjust content according to determined posting behaviour, social media strategy, and content guidelines to increase followers and engagement.
- Recording relevant and important information from calls with communities and updating the DUDES Club website with any related information.
- Following other relevant organizations events, projects, and initiatives; Reposting relevant content to DC network.
- Reporting any information regarding external events, potential partnerships, engagements, and opportunities for collaboration to the DC Team.
- Monitoring all DUDES Club social media groups, pages, and hashtags.
- Find ways to create linkages between data on different DC platforms. (Spreadsheets, Website, social media, Google map) with current data about DC sites and partners and events.
- Organizing PowerPoint presentations that are used at trainings, events, meetings, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work location is quite flexible.
- Weekly DCS Operational team meetings
- Monthly DCS Team Meetings
- Occasional appearances at the DC Vancouver Gatherings
- Occasional appearances at the weekly Think Tank meetings
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Cultural Knowledge and ability to work crossculturally
- Good writing skills
- Related degree, diploma, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working specifically with men, or openness to working with them.
- Experience working in community, with community members, and towards communityset goals
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations and/or clients.
- Preference may be given to applicants who selfidentify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
