Core6 Environmental is currently looking for a full-time, permanent
Hydrogeologist to join our team in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. We are an energetic and exciting consulting firm that provides a range of environmental services. Typical tasks and activities to expect within this role include all types of hydrogeological field work including installation of wells; logging of rock core and soil types; collection of environmental quality samples; and directing and overseeing drilling contractors.
You will also be involved in the detailed analysis of data, development of conceptual site models, and may carry out groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling.
Knowledge and experience with analyzing the effects of climate change on groundwater resources and knowledge of modeling software such as MODFLOW would be assets for the position.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of contaminant and physical hydrogeology including drilling/installing of monitoring wells, hydraulic conductivity testing, development of conceptual site models, groundwater/contaminant transport and modeling.
- Master's degree in Hydrogeology (preferred but not required) with a Bachelor degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences. Course work must include both physical and contaminant hydrogeology;
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Geologist or Engineer in BC;
- Strong, Clear and Concise Communication and Written Skills;
- Curiosity to learn and gain technical knowledge from your peers and mentors and confident with sharing thoughts and ideas for improvement;
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence with access to a vehicle;
- Willing to travel and when necessary work overtime to meet project schedules; and
- Confident and capable of working following tasks and understanding desired outcomes.
Salary:
$60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
