This is a hybrid position, combining work at the Calgary office with working from home.

Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate scope definition and coordination of required corrosion management program activities as prescribed by Plains corporate corrosion group
  • Act as intermediary between corporate corrosion group and field Operations personnel
  • Coordinate annual cathodic protection surveys, arrange resources (internal or contractor) for test station readings on pipelines and tanks, rectifier inspections
  • Plan and coordinate program for internal corrosion coupon inspection and analysis, chemical injection, monitoring and sampling
  • Plan and coordinate close interval pipetosoil potential surveys (CIS)
  • Perform project management duties for corrosion capital maintenance work including:
  • AC mitigation projects
  • Transformer/Rectifier installation & upgrades
  • Installing or replacing test stations
  • Anode ground bed installation or replacement
  • Installing or replacing Remote Monitoring Units (RMU)
  • Ensure all CP data collected in the field is uploaded into specified system of record
  • Track and monitor activity progress against annual plan
  • Manage thirdparty contractors and ensure adherence to budget and change management protocols;
  • Maintain and build healthy internal and external project stakeholder relationships;
  • Provide input to annual budgets and long range forecasting;
  • Provide support and expert advice to other teams on corrosion matters;
  • Provide mentoring to team members.

Qualifications:


  • Engineering degree in an applicable discipline is nicetohave, and/or eligibility for Professional Engineering designation and eligible for registration in Alberta (APEGA)
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: asset integrity, corrosion management, pipeline, oil and gas facilities, project management
  • Completion or pursuing AMPP/NACE Corrosion Technologist Certification or Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Management Certification would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as CSA Z662, NEB OPR, AER Pipeline Act;
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and work well in a team setting;
  • Possess excellent communication ability, both written and verbal;
  • Strong computer, organizational, and technical skills;
  • Capable of problem solving and able to meet deadlines;
  • Logical and methodical understanding of complex information;
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects at the same time;
  • Reliable, responsible, and safetyconscious
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (periodic visits to field sites in Canada as necessary) but some US business travel may be expected;
  • Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks; and
  • Compliance with the company's Drug & Alcohol Policy.
