This position provides the management and planning of all activities and events of the Conflict Theater Program offered through Human Resources, Workplace Learning and Engagement.

The position is responsible for the coordination and planning of all events, including educational programs and workshops, community of practice meetings, play building intensives and public performances.


The program manager is responsible for managing projects related to developing educational assets to support staff and faculty leaders to develop conflict literacy and fluency skills and works closely with leadership program managers and relevant stakeholders.

This position is responsible for program development and evaluation, and works closely with the Conflict Theatre Faculty Lead and members of the community of practice to ensure effective program delivery.


This position works collaboratively with others to coordinate and implement the communication strategy that supports the advancement of conflict awareness and engagement skills and ensures performances, learning and community events align with and advance strategic priorities.

Organizational Status

Work Performed

  • Works closely with the faculty and staff program leads to identify and implements strategic priorities related to advancing conflict skills at UBC.
  • Manages, coordinates and implements the communications strategy for the program.
  • Ensures that various public performances, leadership programs, and stakeholder consultations are effectively managed by overseeing all calendar bookings and calls for actors, and effective archiving of plays.
  • Develops, and implements a recruitment strategy for larger events such as the Intensives
  • Hires temporary staff and/or students to support running of the program during busy times
  • Provides orientation for, and supervises, a temporary staff or student support person during some periods, as required.
  • Creates recruitment materials as agreed with team and HR Communications team
  • Supports the program leads on curriculum decisions and implements clear learning outcomes for events aligned with the overall program design
  • Supports all online and in person events by overseeing room bookings, catering, and tech support for Zoom when delivering virtual training events.
  • Evaluates learning outcomes for events in consultation with the planning team and facilitator(s)
  • Shapes and delivers the evaluation strategy including developing and distributing surveys, collecting feedback, incorporating results into program delivery, and providing reports on program achievements
  • Analyses and provides updated evaluation results and feedback.
  • Ensures successful daily running and logistics of Conflict Theatre pilot program, including staying within annual budget guidelines.
  • Manages logistics for all events and coordinates with participants to ensure the people, resources, catering, and planning are in place for successful events
  • Makes purchases on behalf of the Program in line with previously decided working budgets.
  • Ensures events meet the needs of participants people per event) and provides onsite support during intensives (20 people), and other events as needed
  • Coordinates with program partners and the planning team; chairs the program planning,meetings
  • Contributes to content development within Canvas as well as overseeing the final materials, PPTs and resources for all leadership programs.
  • Manages
  • Act as a resource for partners and community of practice participants (30+) who want to spread Conflict Theatre on campus
