Opportunity:


The IT Support Specialist will provide support to Westcoast's different worksite locations, as agreed upon by the IT Support Specialist and the IT Lead, or their incumbent.


Responsibilities:


  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.).
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
  • Perform systems/network administration: manage servers, backups, network services, users, etc.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks, computer systems, and data.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment.
  • Provide training to staff (e.g., lunch and learns or 1:1) as needed.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
  • Diagnose and resolve PC desktop with hardware, software, and network issues (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.).
  • Provide end user support to staff across several remote offices, utilizing remote access software.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment.
  • Coordinate IT adhoc projects.
  • Conduct other duties as required.

  • Confident working autonomously, with a high degree of composure and sound judgement.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Background in the nonprofit sector an asset.

Requirements:


  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science and 1 year of experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server 2012 & up, and Active Directory (AD) administrative tools.
  • Must be able to commute to different worksites within the Lower Mainland.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
