The Inventory/Planning Clerk performs a variety of clerical inventory, planning and audit tasks. Supports the work of planning and production personnel performing related work.NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The position of Inventory/Planning Clerk is an individual contributor responsible for work assigned by others (supervisor, management etc.). It reports directly to the Planning Supervisor.
The incumbent interacts with co-workers and supervisors.
Thinking challenges and problem solving would typically be routine. Decisions made would normally impact transactions in the short term.
The position has limited freedom to act because work usually follows standardized practices and procedures, and unusual problems are referred to an immediate supervisor.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Updates production jobs for all departments into NAV.
- Cycle count finished goods and raw materials based on ABC method, to ensure inventory is accurate.
- Verifies receiving packing slips match materials ordered and received; receive product into NAV; process paperwork as required.
- Complete shipping audits to ensure accuracy of shipments prior to being shipped.
- Regularly audit 5S/housekeeping checklists for production.
- Prepare routine reports and update metrics.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Any other related duties that may be requested from time to time by the Plant Supervisor or Planning Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education:
High School diploma required
Knowledge/Skills:
This position must be skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics is an asset. The position of Inventory/Planning Clerk requires a basic understanding of all relevant company procedures.
The Inventory/Planning Clerk must have a cooperative and flexible attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Communication Skills:
The incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with supervisors and co-workers etc.
Experience:
1-2 years previous inventory and/or planning clerical experience is an asset.
