KM Civil is seeking a
Civil Field Representative to join our growing team of professionals and technologists in our
Abbotsford, BC head office.

In this role, you will conduct daily field reviews of civil construction works and maintain clear communication between contractors, clients, City engineering and plumbing departments, as well as the design team.

You will be responsible for tracking construction progress, witnessing and administering testing, and responding to queries during construction.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Possess a through understanding of construction drawings and municipal requirements and standard details
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Master Municipal Construction Document (MMCD) requirements and standard details
  • Conduct regular field reviews of civil works to confirm general conformance to the design intent
  • Refer deviations from design to the design team or municipal engineer for clarification
  • Maintain records of installed work and construction progress
  • Attend regular construction site progress meetings
  • Conduct project closeout reviews for completed projects, and generate deficiency lists for remedial action by contractors
  • Attend preconstruction meetings with municipal inspection staff
  • Assure proper document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are kept

Qualifications:


  • Technical Diploma in civil engineering design, or Certified Public Works Inspector (CPWI) certification
  • 4+ years of relevant local experience in land development and capital works
  • Experience with cost estimating, civil construction administration, and construction contract administration is a bonus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; selfstarter and team player
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory with the ability travel to job sites and other offices as required.
