Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Finance Clerk will be primarily responsible for processing and coding invoices and expense claims, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, and, facilitating timely payment of vendor and employee payables.

The Finance Clerk will also be responsible for preparing month end accruals and account reconciliations during the month end process, and providing support for other accounting services such as accounts receivable, financial & statistical reporting and inventory control.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Process vendor invoices associated with Purchase Orders and Non-P/O's in the ERP system.
  • Due diligence in verifying the appropriate approval, coding and compliance to hospital policies and procedures
  • Respond to vendor and employee inquiries and reconcile invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Fixed Asset Subledger Maintenance, including account reconciliations, additions, disposals and amortization/depreciation.
  • P-Card review and reconciliations
  • Prepare month end accruals
  • Process related journal entries in the General Ledger
  • Provide backup support for patient cash transactions, accounts receivable, financial & statistical reporting, inventory control, reconciling AP subledger with the GL.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Undergraduate degree, B.A., B Commerce or Business Administration Diploma with Major in Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Three years recent accounts payable and accounting experience in a fastpaced environment, fully computerized environment
  • In depth knowledge of accounting policies and procedures
  • Intermediate level of knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven attention to accuracy and detail
  • Demonstrated strict adherence to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial data and information and internal controls
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a dynamic team environment
