Practice Group Billing Assistant Job Description:


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Request and process all prebills ensuring accuracy of details, and inputting changes to prebills;
  • As required make amendments to bills, review final copies and prepare final bills for lawyer's approval;
- submit to lawyers for signing;

  • Proactively monitor and review billing system to ensure that client data is kept current and accurate;
  • Assist with special billing requests;
  • Communicate with clients and third parties;
  • Providing backup coverage for others; and
  • Other duties as required which may include performing routine clerical, administrative and general office duties.

Qualifications:


  • 35 years' experience in a law firm or professional services environment, in a finance / billing related role
  • Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk Diploma preferred;
  • Solid understanding of business and legal terminology;
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Calendar) and Aderant Accounting Software;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Clientservice oriented;
  • Ability to work within a team environment and independently;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; and
  • Conscientious with strong attention to detail.
