Hydrovac Operator
The hydrovac operator is an essential member of the Southview team.

Safely mobilizing the hydrovac unit to the jobsite and operating the on-board hydroexcavation system are the main requirements of the job.

Training will be provided for people with a DZ or AZ license and a desire to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Daylighting and soft excavating for telecom, hydro, gas, and underground services
Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times
Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure hydrovac unit is clean and operating properly maintained
Complete all required paperwork daily
Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation
Must be able to work in confined areas
Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
Other duties as required

Requirements:

A DZ driver's license is the minimum requirement needed
Must have and maintain a clean driver's abstract and CVOR
Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related experience preferred
Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset
Mechanical inclination an asset
Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
Operate Southview Group's equipment in a safe and professional manner
Properly document all Company, Federal, Provincial and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner
Able to effectively and professionally communicate with onsite customer representatives

Essential Physical Functions

Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to work in all outdoor elements (rain, snow, heat) for extended periods of time
Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable
Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
Must be eligible to work in Canada

Salary:
$24.00-$35.00 per hour
