    Job Description


    Raise is looking for a Project Engineer (P&C Centric) to join Our Client, a major electrical energy provider in Canada. This position is a one-year contract based in Burnaby, BC. We are searching for skilled professionals to lead important projects. Opportunity for extension for the right candidate.

    Description


    The Project Engineer will:

    • Engage in the organization's engineering practices through independent studies and analysis.
    • Contribute to setting technical standards, exercising judgment in information selection.
    • Suggest secure engineering designs and make decisions on methods and designs.
    • Offer guidance to other engineering professionals to enhance future capabilities.

    Accountabilities


    The Project Engineer will:

    • Create secure engineering solutions by taking initiative and judgment in task performance.
    • Analyze and solve problems, interpret engineering specifications for complex assignments.
    • Achieve safety, cost, quality, and time objectives by proposing plan changes and estimated costs.
    • Approve contractor work payments, produce progress reports, and manage work schedules.
    • Solve technical and unusual design and field engineering challenges independently.

    Experience


    The ideal candidate should have:

    • 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field focusing on electric utility engineering.
    • 4 years of experience leading or coordinating multi-discipline design teams.
    • Experience in design development, problem analysis and resolution, and interpreting engineering specifications.
    • Strong experience with protection and control components.

    Education and Skills


    The candidate should have:

    • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Proof of Permit to Practice.
    • Intermediate English skills for a professional setting, both written and spoken.
    • Familiarity with CAD systems, drawing standards, and proficiency in industry design/analysis software.
    • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Additional Information


    Each contractor must have their own Windows 10 or 11 Laptop for the assignment. Also, each contractor must provide their own smartphone for network access.
