This position may be located in any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office: Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Fort St John, Kamloops, Kelowna, Maple Ridge, Nanaimo, Prince George, Surrey, Vancouver, Vernon, Victoria, White Rock, or Williams Lake.

An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and temporary opportunities.


The
Information Services Division are technology leaders, planning and delivering successful solutions with information management and information technology (IM/IT) services to both the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Children and Family.

The division also provides IM/IT resource planning, decision-making, project and issues management, security and privacy functions, and desktop support.

Our guiding principle is to promote a service delivery culture that is respectful, fosters positive relationships, and promotes creative problem solving with all our staff and partners in the Social Sector.


The Scrum Master is responsible for leading technology project planning, design, implementation and close out, and for the management of the agile sprint process for a scrum team.

Job Requirements:


  • Degree in the Information technology or Information Management, or Business Administration or related field and 2 years directly related experience; or
  • Diploma in a directly related field and 3 years related experience; or
  • Certification from a recognized institution in a directly related field and 4 years related experience; or
  • Some completed course work in a directly related field and 5 years related experience.
  • A combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.

Related experience must include the following:

  • Agile project experience
  • Agile lifecycle management practices and tools
  • Certification as a Scrum Master
  • Experience working in service delivery organizations/programs
  • Experience in service design
  • Experience in data management programs, UX /UI best practices.
