Purpose of Role:
The SHE Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development, administration, and implementation of companywide occupational safety programs and serves as the coordinator for the occupational safety programs within Eastern Canada.
The SHE Coordinator plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates departmental occupational safety programs, supports recovery of onsite incidents, and conducts investigation and accident reviews.

Key Responsibilities:
- Focus Area: Support the local management teams and support with the development of focused stand down materials to support a combined and cohesive delivery of the SHE message.
- Focus Area: Ensure Weir Group's SHE Charter is fully respected via full implementation of internal protocols and procedures across sites.
- Focus Area: Support incident management & investigation using the Weir SHIELD system.
- Focus Area: Plan and conduct/direct facility audits of facilities within region, recommend actions for the correction of hazardous situations, prepare/ensure audit result reports, and follow up on remediation required.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a w00orld class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited university focused on Occupational Health and Safety or Technical Degree or diploma (engineering/science) with specialization in Health, Safety Environment & Quality (HSE&Q)
- 3+ years of experience in managing a corporate Health & Safety function, preferably in manufacturing/service settings
- Experience working with all levels within an organization providing support and representing leadership.
- Exposure to mining, oil and gas or related industries would be an asset
