True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a detail oriented individual to join our team.
The
-
Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for processing payroll and benefits for all True North Employees. As the point of contact for employees, you will address their inquiries and concerns related to payroll, group benefits, and retirement savings plans, providing essential support in these areas.


What to be excited for in this role:


  • Complete fullcycle semimonthly payrolls consisting of fulltime salary, hourly, and casual employees.
  • Become the knowledge expert in company time and attendance system (currently Workforce) as it relates to payroll and employee onboarding.
  • Ensure all eligible employees are enrolled for group benefits in accordance with company policies and employment agreements.
  • Assist with the administration of the group RRSP and DPSP plans.
  • Process payroll and benefits payables and assist with reconciliation of related general ledger accounts.
  • Enter, maintain, and organize employee files ensuring the utmost of confidentiality.
  • Ensure proper completion of annual T4s, T4A's, and T4 Summary including annual reconciliation of benefits and taxable benefits.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, management, employees, and external agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:


  • Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline such as Business Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting required.
years of payroll experience required.

  • Certified Payroll compliance Practitioner (PCP) is an asset.
  • Experience with Payworks and/or Workforce, administering group benefits, and employment standards legislation considered an asset.
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent personal organization.
  • Experience with US based payrolls will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and databases.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements.
  • Motivated selfstarter with capabilities to work within a fastpaced teamoriented environment.
