About the role

As our next Principal Consultant reporting to the Operational Excellence team, based in our Canadian office, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.


Job purpose

A Principal Consultant self-sufficiently carries out technical assignments, acting as Project Manager where required, while managing and mitigating AMC's exposure to risk, at the same time as using his / her extensive experience and industry contacts to proactively market AMC's services.


Core functions

  • Operational and management experience in a mining environment.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of operational improvement practices.
  • Can project manage himself/herself, including communicating with clients, managing time and budgets, and producing reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and create client focussed solutions.
  • Practical experience in a range of business improvement methods such as lean sixsigma and theory of constraints.
  • Good working knowledge of capital and operating cost estimation.

  • Experience in and / or an inclination for business development.

Qualifications and experience

  • A degree in engineering with more than 10 years' experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.
