Key Areas of Responsibility:
Site Support
- Meet with customers to determine proper site procedures ensuring efficient use of equipment and communicating information to dispatcher.
- Attending job sites to assist in coordination of truck staging and correct sequencing.
- Determine if any hazards exist and communicate to customer and dispatch.
- Communicate with customer's onsite team about dispatch, order process, scheduling and production processes.
Driver Support and Supervision
- Ensure all drivers in the field are working effectively and safely and utilizing standby time where possible.
- Ensures that all necessary equipment and clothing is available to the employees and properly used.
- Train employees to maintain proper records and time sheets.
- Support annual and ongoing driver evaluations and assist in driver training.
- Liaises with Driver Supervisor and the Lead Dispatcher to maintain efficient use of employees and equipment.
- Coordinates along with Lead Dispatch, Driver Supervisor and HSE Manager any "light duty" assignments that may arise.
- Reinforcement of safe driving techniques
- Coach drivers in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Complete Work Observations, help document Near Miss events and incident reporting. Assist in resolving driver conflicts or concerns at sites.
- In discussion with the Driver Supervisor, discipline when drivers are not following established rules and guidelines.
- Review driver FLRA's.
- Complete weekly work observations.
Administration
- Ensure all communications to administration are done accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper records for employees.
- Maintain and develop computer skills necessary for efficient use of time.
- Ensure all timecards are completed accurately and approved prior to being sent to the front office.
- Assist with Driver Supervisor duties during vacation leave.
- Assist in organizing roles/duties when incidents, ie; MVI, occur. Including transporting employees when a D/A testing is required when major incidents arise & arranging for pickup of a mixer. Etc.
- Participate in Toolbox/Safety Meetings.
Mixer Truck and Pump Operation
- Ensure that all mixer trucks are kept clean and in good working order.
Inventory Assessment
- Work with the Operations Manager in droning the stockpiles, on a monthly basis, at both Langley and Burnaby.
- Qualified and Certified drone pilot.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 5 years driving experience in the readymix industry.
- Knowledge of Command Series and Dispatch software systems.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, disseminating complete and accurate information.
- Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with subordinates and management.
