- The Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer is looking for a temporary full time Communications and Engagement Coordinator to join its team for approximately two (2) years.
Responsibilities - This is an excellent opportunity for a public participation professional looking to join a small and collaborative team, and excel in a position that requires skills in relationshipbuilding, strategic thinking, creativity, and the ability to balance multiple priorities. In this role, you will develop and implement engagement and communications plans that support the City's strategic and annual plans.
- Your demonstrated experience in public engagement will support the City in involving interested parties in decisionmaking processes that impact them. You will work with City departments as a member of project teams to scope, design, and plan public engagement, support project teams to reach interested and impacted parties, report on engagement processes, and deliver all supporting communications work.
Requirements:
- Your qualifications include a postsecondary degree and greater than five years' experience in engagement and strategic communications, ideally focused on high profile or large capital projects. You also have IAP2 Foundations training and strong knowledge of engagement principles. Your strategic communication skills include excellent written and spoken communication, issues management and understanding of community and partner relationships. A demonstrated interest and experience supporting equitydeserving communities and municipal or public service experience is an asset.
Compensation
- This position is currently under review
Hours of Work - The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately every threeweek scheduling cycle.
Additional Information - For temporary fulltime positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
