Oakpark Powerline Services Ltd is currently looking for Overhead Fiber Technicians for overhead fiber installation in New Brunswick.Who we are:
Oakpark Powerline is a rapidly growing Manitoba based company that operates throughout Western Canada and we are now expanding out East.
With a comprehensive range work including: high and low voltage electrical construction and maintenance services including but not limited to overhead powerline construction and maintenance, substation construction, maintenance and inspections, underground distribution construction and maintenance, fiber optic cable system installation, street lighting installation and maintenance, horizontal directional drilling and water pressure vacuum excavation.

Accountabilities:
You will be responsible to perform a variety of fiber installation assignments and involved in all aspects of the installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, specialized testing, maintenance, and ongoing inspection and maintenance of all overhead fiber installation.
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health & Safety Rules and Regulations.
Job Requirements
- Valid First Aid Certificate an asset
- Valid Driver's License-Class 3 with Air
- Valid Trade Certification
- Demonstrated safe work skills and commitment including knowledge of safe work and job planning procedures.
- Effective organization and planning skills
- Self‐starter with the ability to work productively and independently of close supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, team participation and communication skills
- Strong distribution operation, construction and maintenance knowledge and skills
- Strong customer relations skills and willingness to learn new customer techniques
- Willing and able to perform line construction work activities and work away from home base when required
- Working in an outdoors work environment
You must also demonstrate:
- Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time;
- An ability to function well in a crew environment and be able to work independently when needed;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Proven problem resolution skills and the flexibility and ability to adapt to rescheduled assignments.
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
Experience:
Fiber Installation: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Driver License (required)
