Partial On-site - the position requires a combination of regular on-site and remote work. Reasons and schedules can vary, but worker attends on-site regularly (for example, each week).

Position summary

:


Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Support will support the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Officers in all areas of the department including labour relations, health and safety, worker wellbeing, human resource planning, compensation, training and development, recruitment, and human resource policy.


Responsibilities

:


  • Assists the Human Resources Officers with recruitment including:
  • creating job postings/advertisements, short listing, conducting reference checks, scheduling and/or attending interviews, creating offer letters and change reports.
  • Researches and writes administrative policies and procedures required for the human resources portfolio.
  • Researches, investigates, and provides advice and information gathering for situations and items related to human resources as required.
  • Assists in preparing compliance with legislated reporting requirements and quality improvement measures.
  • Provides support with saving grievances, scheduling of meetings, drafting grievance response letters and other labour relations items.
  • Provides learning experiences for staff, students and volunteers.
  • Performs other related human resources tasks as required.

Requirements

:


  • Successful completion of a diploma/degree in the area of human resources or related field. An equivalent education, training and work experience may be considered.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated project/program management, interpersonal and administrative skills, including the ability to set priorities, establish timeframes, and organize resources.
  • Strategic, analytical and problemsolving ability.
  • Experience in developing and supporting collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), including negotiation and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues diplomatically and confidentially.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral team member.
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is essential.
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Ministry of Labour "Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps" training certificate is required.
