The Opportunity:

The Food Services Worker is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and ensuring that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.

What Is In It For You:

Provides assistance to the Cook in the preparation of meals (as required).
Promptly reports equipment failures and breakdowns to the Food Services Manager/Supervisor.
Obtains food and supplies and assists in the receiving, checking, and storing incoming supplies as required.
Ensures that sufficient supplies are maintained in storeroom.
Sets up and delivers menu items to designated areas.
Assists with meal service in the designated dining areas.
Assists in setting up the dining room for each meal. Cleans up after meals.
Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

What You Will Need - Previous food services experience in a long-term care facility, retirement residence or similar environment is preferred.

- Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.

- Must have completed or be willing to enroll in a food services worker program approved by the Ontario Dietetic Association and the Food Services Supervisors' Association (or the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management).

- Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
