Proposal Writer to join our growing team in Canada and support people, organizations, and groups to collaboratively solve their challenges—and tackle the complex, global problems humanity faces today.

The Role:

Reporting to the Proposal Manager, the Proposal Writer will primarily help coordinate our responses to opportunities.


We're looking for someone inspired by the art of and strategy behind storytelling and can help bring to life our service offerings for those who want to work with us.

The Proposal Writer understands that proposals are critical to our success and has a team-oriented approach that helps us bring our best visions forward.


Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:


_ Opportunity Screening / Evaluation_

  • Monitor sources of RFPs and proposals to identify rightfit opportunities. Provide "go/nogo" recommendations.
  • Review RFPs to identify and highlight critical components; create opportunity summaries, content outlines, submission checklists and other supporting documentation.

_Opportunity Response_

  • Plan, organize and direct all elements of a proposal response, including supporting resources such as design, estimating and other administrative functions.
  • Assemble and edit boilerplate and brand content.
  • Further contribute to developing proposals by providing original writing assistance, research support, and other strategic input.
  • Work closely with practitioners across the organization to translate processes into compelling messages that convey a unique value proposition.
  • Ensure proposals are delivered on time, are on brand, and have the expected impact.
  • Assist in quality assurance and copyediting

_Opportunity Readiness_

  • Support the maintenance of our content library.
  • Track award opportunities and assist with kickoff and onboarding processes.
  • Track won standing offers and assist with followups.

_Collaboration_

  • Communicate and collaborate with growing Communications and Business Development teams located across North America
  • Ensure strong communication flows between the proposal, sales, finance, and delivery teams

What You Offer:


  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in scanning, reading and interpreting the technical requirements of RFPs
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in writing, copy editing and submitting proposals
  • A relevant educational background in business, technical writing, marketing, or another field
  • An exemplary storyteller with strong writing and editing skills; you're able to support a diversity of writers through the process of developing clear and compelling content, from ideation to execution.
  • A digitalsavvy skill set with experience working with Loomly and Salesforce or other similar CMS and CRM platforms, and fluency in working and formatting content using the Microsoft Office Suite. InDesign experience is an asset but not required.
  • A strong research aptitude and an appetite to stay on top of opportunities being tendered through online platforms.
  • French/English bilingualism is an asset but not required.
  • U.S. market experience, and experience with Foundationbased grant programs is considered an asset.
