About this Role

What you'll get to DO

Monitor and control department expenditures related to labour, food costs and other operational costs;
Assist with the development and implementation of creative menu items for the foodservice outlets working within prescribed food cost percentage allotments
Assist with maintaining all back of house inventory control levels to meet business volumes
Assist with the development and implementation of, or modify (existing) department standards, policies and procedures where required
Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop, promote and participate in training programs for department employees that are wanting to advance in their culinary skills
Ensure all Provincial mandated laws, policies and procedures are stringently enforced at all times

What you'll need to be Successful

Must be 19 years of age or older
Minimum 24 years as a 1st Cook or other relevant progressive culinary experience
Working towards RED SEAL certification or desire to grow in the culinary arts
Must be available to work a variety of shifts including, days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
Food Safety Certification
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff
Ability to pass a criminal background check
