Health and Safety Field Advisor - Woodbridge, Canada - 407 ETR

407 ETR is looking for an Advisor, Health & Safety (field) who will be reporting to the Director, Health, Safety, Environment & Wellness (HSEW), and will be accountable for providing assistance and help with the development and maintenance of the company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) with a particular focus on technical and field-level programsNote:
this is an on-site role.
Key Accountabilities
The key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- A business partner for Highway Operations and Tolling.
- Advisor on safety programs such as construction safety, working at heights, traffic control, Book 7, etc.
- Prepare materials and participate in weekly toolbox talk meetings.
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc site inspections and audits.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and follow-ups, including corrective actions and lessons learned.
- Assist with modified duty and post-injury return to work program.
- Develop and deliver training, including safety orientations.
- Create and formulate SWPs/SJPs/SOPs.
- Keep open lines of communication with all field staff and advise on associated hazards and recommend controls.
Education and Experience- Diploma and/or Degree in a related field from a recognized institution.- Minimum 3 years or relevant work experience.
- IHSA CORTM Auditor-
- ISO 45001 AuditorSkills & Specialized Knowledge
- Working knowledge of construction safety, working at heights, traffic control, Book 7, etc.
- Intermediate computer user, including knowledge of the MS Office package.
- Skills and experience with databases, including manual data entry.
- Event scheduling, training coordination and recordkeeping.
- Time-management, multitasking, attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines.
