Job Title:
Bookkeeper
Primary Purpose of the Job:
To assist the Finance Department with daily operations.
Reports to:
CFO (Chief of Financial Officer)
Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Conduct general administrative functions in the office including filing, answering phone calls and supply on the school janitorial services.
- Report BrightHR staff data and calendar management weekly.
- Conduct payables and receivables.
- Complete Payroll and banking deposits.
- Ensure cleaners have WCB (done quarterly).
- Work with the senior school accountant, help maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Maintain historical records by ensuring that all electronic and paper receipts/invoices/ documents are filed regularly and promptly.
- Balance the general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Assist in preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Be familiar with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements to ensure the company adheres to necessary regulations.
- Maintain records and follow the established administrative and financial policies and procedures
- Maintain, track, and reorder office supplies regularly
- Complete other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- Accounting/bookkeeping certificate or diploma from a recognized college.
- Minimum of one year of previous bookkeeping experience.
- Minimum of 23 years of administrative experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on the advanced features of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. General experience and competence with computer software.
- Experienced in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is an asset but not required.

This role is located full-time in our Vancouver office (Monday to Friday) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Other Compensation:
Extended health benefits after three months.
Salary:
$16.00-$20.00 per hour
