Service Technician to join our team.
As a
Service Technician you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects and contribute building communities in Ottawa.

The shift will be Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Must have a willingness to travel and reliable transportation.

The Role:
- Arrive prepared to all service appointments, equipped with all necessary tools and supplies.
- Manage homeowner expectations around service, item warrantability, and address concerns.
- Oversee homeowner appointments, ensuring repairs are being completed per plan.
- Repair all items allocated to Service Technician items.
- Supervise and support trades at service appointments to ensure completion of their items.
- Take the initiative to complete trade items if a trade is no show.
- Obtain homeowner sign offs as items completed.
- Document list status updates clearly and communicate to Service Coordinator to plan outstanding work.
- Track claim form aging and strategize with and Service Coordinators (and Manager) to ensure goals are met.
- Participate in Service Team meetings to review, update and strategize service calls and lots.
- Support emergency calls as needed.
- Support Caivan's model home maintenance program as required.
- Perform any other duties as required.
You will bring:
- Proficiency in drywall repairs (completed for paint ready).
- Experience with trim repairs (replacement, sand, caulk etc.).
- Carpentry skills such as repairing a bowed wall, floor squeak.
- Ceramic tile repair skills such as cutting and replacing a tile (including grouting).
- Minor concrete work such as chipping concrete, repairing small concrete patches in basement floor.
- Excellent silicone and latex skills for tubs, sinks, etc.
- Latex caulking as required.
- Wood touchups skills for minor items on cabinetry, hardwood and railings.
- Comfortable in the use of technology smartphones, tablets, or computers to record, review and communicate information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of Tarion and experience with Tarion list management as asset
- Flexible to move to different projects and jobs
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a valid driver's license, and regular access to a vehicle
- Must have own hand tools and tool belt.
- Must be certified in Working at Heights
