The University of Toronto Scarborough, through the department of Business Development and its various businesses, such as Academic Printing & Custom Publishing, Food Partnerships and Retail & Conference Services, provide a wide range of services to the University community.

The revenue generation for the various services contributes to the support of the academic mission of the University.


Your opportunity:


Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Strategist, you will provide excellent client and printing services for staff, faculty, and students on a wide range of printing machines and equipment.

Your responsibilities will include setting up, troubleshooting and making minor repairs to printing equipment, completing work orders for printing requests and determining what printing and bindery methods to use, providing clients with quotations upon request, formatting documents for duplication, maintaining inventory and database records, ordering supplies with approval, submitting billing records for processing, handling fees and issuing receipts and providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Setting up and troubleshooting printers
  • Checking to ensure equipment is in working order
  • Following rules and procedural instructions when operating photocopiers
  • Providing clients with detailed quotations on request
  • Formatting graphic files for print
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Submitting billing records for processing
  • Handling fees or fines and issuing receipts on a limited basis

Essential Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience providing printing services on a variety of printing equipment.
  • Experience operating a wide variety of printing equipment.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service to a diverse group of clients and vendors.
  • Experience troubleshooting and making minor repairs on printing equipment.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with experience in MS Office including Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift paper boxes weighing between 310 kg.
