BUSINESS OPERATIONS ADVISOR

FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES


NorQuesters are difference makers and we're searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health as a Business Operations Advisor.

Reporting directly to the Team Lead, Business Planning, The Business Operations Advisor supports leaders for designated program areas.

This role brings a high level of business acumen to the area, providing advice, expertise, and support to functions such as program planning, enrolment planning, timetabling, research and development of ideas or initiatives, business activities and analysis, documentation, and evaluation of outcomes.

The Business Operations Advisor independently executes on cyclical operational and administrative activities for designated programs as well as provides support to key business functions for the division.

This role's developed expertise within their program portfolio will allow them to collaborate with the leaders as a highly valued partner, while also demonstrating the capability to work with peers supporting other portfolios, and to determine synergies and needs across the division.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Collaborate with leaders in creating, executing, analyzing, evaluating, documenting, and reporting program activities to meet outcomes of the Program Business Plan.
  • Create and lead a cycle of recurring business tasks that follows the academic year and touch each part of the program's operations.
  • Support the program leaders by managing programrelated calendars, commitments, student communications, and essential program business activities that contribute to the success of the program.
  • Utilize strong verbal and written communications to answer inquiries from program students and support program faculty with general assistance such as attaching, technical troubleshooting, issues management, and facility bookings.
  • Support asset and enrolment management to ensure program targets meet strategic goals.
  • Communicate with students, gathering information from faculty and staff and collaborating with leaders to activate a plan to meet needs by directing the purchasing of program equipment and supplies and providing analytic support to leaders for enrolment planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Support program activities related to credit and noncredit courses including timetabling, program development documentation, architecture changes, market research and development, curriculum sustainment project support, and PeopleSoft queries and reporting.
  • Adopt and provide input to process improvement initiatives both within their program areas and division wide; recognize opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to increase efficiency.
  • Facilitate people in the area to work smarter, meet outcomes effectively and efficiently, and move the division forward in meeting strategic goals.
  • Support recruitment activities in the program, liaising with divisional representative to provide resources and support to annual callouts for events, website review, and other studentfacing initiatives.
  • Act as the lead for Program Advisory Committee communications, engagement, meeting preparation, minute taking, and coordination of logistics.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Business or related Degree is preferred. Consideration may be given to those with a Business Diploma.
  • 3+ years directly related experience in a postsecondary environment or similarly complex portfolio.

SALARY:
$48,403- $62,910 annually, reflective of what you bring AKA your experience and education. This is a fulltime permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
