Position Summary:


Working with the Manager, Maintenance Technical Center (MTC) this position oversees and supervises the MTC Operators and Schedule Coordinators to facilitate the efficient operation of maintenance activities at Toronto Pearson including day of maintenance calls and to develop system forecasted work schedules to in turn develop a weekly/bi-weekly schedule for coordinated and high-risk work.

The role also monitors program compliance and makes recommendations for improvement to improve overall scheduling, coordination and/or execution of work.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Finds opportunities to identify and adjust work plans and schedules based on operational requirements, priority, risk and available resourcing
  • Key relationship holder with operational partners to establish standards and operating procedures for coordination of asset outages for planned maintenance work
  • Establish and monitor a measurable
    process to track and advance asset outage requests, denials, and unexecuted maintenance windows
  • Influences key decisions in annual maintenance program reviews to support maintenance scheduling and coordination strategy and continuous improvement
  • Liaises with multiple business units to ensure alignment of various work management processes, updates and handles MTC related documentation
  • Supervises and measures MTC productivity to ensure completeness, accuracy and drive continuous improvement
  • Leads the Asset Downtime Application in Maximo, including documentation, processes and use to ensure scheduling data accuracy
  • Raises daily operational risks, challenges or delays with execution of repairs to accountable managers and the Manager, MTC
  • Handles the coordination and administration of training content for Operators and Schedule Coordinators and influences the Manager to add or improve training programs and content
  • Creates, updates and maintains all Standard Operating Procedures and Job Aids
  • Monitor and evaluate existing technology systems and tools to find opportunities for improvement
  • Supervises quality, reports trends in productivity and performance with a focus on customer service.
  • Identifies and develops specific key performance indicators to proactively ensure thresholds are met for the MTC

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary diploma in a related field or 35 years of combined equivalent experience and education
  • 35 years' experience within a large dynamic maintenance facility is preferred
  • A recognized Facilities Maintenance designation is preferred (MMP/FMP)
  • Must have a valid Ontario G class Driver's License
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

  • Advanced knowledge and/or understanding of maintenance, processes, procedures, work programs and their potential impact on airport operations
  • Ability to create reports, analyze substantial amounts of data and summarize findings in support of continuous improvement
  • Ability to create and deliver training programs
  • Ability to prepare and deliver group presentations
  • Ability to use various systems as they relate to both airport maintenance and operations
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures, Equipment Life Cycle and Asset Management Programs
  • Knowledge of GTAA record keeping policies and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, selfmotivated and results driven
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills to present, influence and sell solutions to potential issues to various audiences
