Position Expectations:


  • Demonstrate a commitment to Brampton Caledon Community Living's vision, mission, and values.
  • Establish respectful relationships with people who have an intellectual disability, which fosters their uniqueness, dignity, rights, and wellbeing.
  • Be aware of community resources, activities, and opportunities that would promote the social inclusion of people supported.
  • Develop and/or implement support agreements to achieve personal outcomes by using Personal Outcomes Measures.
  • Support individuals to contribute to the world of work alternatives, including volunteer work.
  • Promote and demonstrate the values of the organization within the workplace and in the community.
  • Facilitate the development of social networks for people, promoting the involvement of family, community groups, employers, and others in the community.

Qualifications:


  • DSW, CYW, SSW, related diploma/degree or must be working toward the completion of the final year of postsecondary education.
  • Ability to relate to people with intellectual disability and their families. Sound understanding of legislation and policy governing the developmental services sector as well as best practices and quality assurance and/or continuous improvement practices or processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to express and present oneself in a professional manner; strong writing and verbal communication skills; sound decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a large team environment.
  • Commitment to the goals and vision of Brampton Caledon Community Living; knowledge of SRV and Personal Outcome measures an asset.

Must-Have:


  • Valid driver's license Class G and a reliable car
  • Acceptable Driver's Abstract and liability car insurance
  • An uptodate, Clear Police Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR & CPI
  • Proficiency in Computer skills
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
